THE STORY CONTINUES

Steven Mark Revland was born in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1953. He was raised there, too.

Growing up in a blue collar neighborhood in the post war 50’s, a child was many times forced to look to his or her own devices for entertainment, as family funds were few and far between for many. This actually was a blessing for a dyslexic, ADHD-afflicted child whose educational development was highly questionable and, more than likely, unachievable.

Making “stuff” came easy and early for this grade schooler, as his grades gradually plummeted due to his inability to absorb the knowledge essential to move on to each level of required education. However, two years of high school “wood shop” in 1969 and 1970 was the motivational force behind the “gift that kept on giving” for Revland. Over half a century later, and thousands of furniture pieces made, the proof is in the pudding.

You can find all of this information and more by reading his memoir, simply revland: how to succeed in life despite yourself. A 70-year journey into the mind of a lifelong artist.
